8 Years Old
Melbourne Marathon Festivals: x4 (3km)
Annabelle, with assistance from her family, has participated in the Melbourne Marathon Festival as part of Team CPEC since she was three years old.
In 2019 she was one of the first children to gain access to the Mollii suit; revolutionary technology designed to assist in the treatment of people with Cerebral Palsy. That same year, she wore the suit and was able to “walk the last 100m on the MCG all by [herself]”.
Annabelle’s most memorable moment was in that final 100m, “everyone was cheering when I crossed the finish line”. It was a great sense of achievement, but what she really loves about the Melbourne Marathon Festival is “seeing everyone achieve their own goals” says Annabelle.
Annabelle can’t wait to do it all again in 2021 on behalf of the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre with “CPEC t-shirts on and blue and yellow balloons flying”.
