You are invited to take part in the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival’s #10TEN10 Challenge and clock up 10k this October 10!
It can be your fastest 10k, a race pace 10k, a mindful 10k, your first ever 10k, or even share the moment and take on 10k with a friend! Walk it, run it, it’s completely up to you how you want to do it.
For some inspiration, City of Melbourne shares with you their 10k track of choice, Main Yarra Trail. For those wanting or already planning to take on this route be sure to show off your #10TEN10 #MelbMoment !
MAIN YARRA TRAIL
Start: Melbourne’s historic rowing boathouses on the banks of the Yarra River in Alexandra Gardens.
Follow the ‘Main Yarra Trail’ as you pass the Swan Street Bridge, Morell Bridge, Punt Road Bridge and Church Street Bridge. Head under MacRobertson Bridge and loop around to cross over it. Turn right to follow the path along Yarra Boulevard, then loop to your right back onto the Main Yarra Trail heading back towards the City.
Continue along the Main Yarra Trail as you pass back under Macrobertsons Bridge, Church Street Bridge, Punt Road Bridge and Morell Bridge. Cross over at Swan Street Bridge and turn right onto upper Main Yarra Trail. Cross the road at Boathouse Drive and follow the track along Alexandra Ave to return to your starting spot.
Once you’ve completed the challenge why not re-fuel at one of Melbourne’s best hole-in-the-wall cafes or treat yourself to the best pancakes and waffles!
Don’t forget to share with us your @MelbMara #10TEN10 #MelbMoment
