Annabelle, with assistance from her family, has participated in the Melbourne Marathon Festival as part of Team CPEC since she was three years old.
In 2019 she was one of the first children to gain access to the Mollii suit; revolutionary technology designed to assist in the treatment of people with Cerebral Palsy. That same year, she wore the suit and was able to โwalk the last 100m on the MCG all by [herself]โ.
Annabelle’s most memorable moment was in that final 100m, โeveryone was cheering when I crossed the finish lineโ. It was a great sense of achievement, but what she really loves about the Melbourne Marathon Festival is โseeing everyone achieve their own goalsโ says Annabelle.
Annabelle canโt wait to do it all again in 2021 on behalf of the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre with โCPEC t-shirts on and blue and yellow balloons flyingโ.
