How Pets of the Homeless is keeping best friends together

If you’ve ever had a pet, you know the joy, support and companionship your furry friend can bring.

That’s why Pets of the Homeless (POTH) works to keep vulnerable people and their pets together by alleviating the burden of providing essential pet care during times of hardship.

Through the provision of pet food and supplies, veterinary care and safe shelter, POTH works to ensure that the important bond between a person and their companion animal is never broken.

Jessica and Zeus meant everything to each other.

When Jessica’s heart failed and she faced hospitalisation and rehab, she lost almost everything including her best friend. With no one who could help, her social worker reached out to Pets Of The Homeless.

From providing a safe shelter and food to taking care of his medical needs while in care, Jessica was so grateful to know her beloved boy would be there when she got back on her feet.

“You helped make a very trying and worrisome time a lot easier knowing that I wasn’t going to lose Zeus,” Jessica said. “You really did save my life.”

Join #TeamPOTH and run for free

You can join #TeamPOTH for the Nike Melbourne Marathon and help keep best friends together.
